It just seems like a violation of my own creative output if Adobe has a say in what I do with the work I sweat out with their product. Solution: Easy Solution: To avoid the watermark when rendering in Maya without purchasing a separate Arnold License, use the Render Sequence Tool. If such a system for 'authorized upgrade of student assets to pro assets' existed, it would immediately erase ANY concerns I have about learning graphics with Maya and make me a Maya learner IMMEDIATELY, and thus a reasonably high prospect for a future pro license subscription (e.g., assuming I don't die or otherwise abandon the career path). And none of the software I’m interested in watermarks or in anyway tags what you output as coming from student software.
